Santa was a friend of mine

Here is my brother and I Christmas 1965
I have always loved Christmas ,from the letter written to Santa in November through to the cotton wool snowmen we made at school and the Christmas lolly baskets coloured in and stapled. To me it was all unadulterated Joy.
Sitting on his lap in your new Christmas outfit was just the height of happiness.I was usually a very good girl i had no doubts he would come to our house. But the joyous agony of the wait and the horrible feeling on boxing day that it was all over for another whole year.We had a lovely aluminium tree and the usual decorations.i have bought many that i remember as a child for my own tree.

Just look at what a cutie you are!! When I was younger we always had a cut tree and it brought such a beautiful aroma to the house. But I remember the aluminum trees with the color wheel too! My Mom was really into blue the year that we got our aluminum tree and it was filled with the prettiest shade of light blue balls! And I bet she still has that aluminum tree!

It really can be a Magical time for those of us who choose to let the inner child run riot ,
At least just for Christmas anyhow...
I have my kids do the santa visit and photo thing every year.

I Luv Christmas and all its sparkle and joy and just that feeling you get! I peeked below at your craftiness and what fun and great little things you made, i like them lots. I have not crafted since your stocking but miss it so, now the rush for Thanksgiving and cleaning up!! I promise I will be bloggin your photos of your stocking w/in a week too! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours my dear!
